HIFU Treatment
Greetings to you all!
This section is all about Myoma and Adenomyosis. If you never heard about what is the myoma and adenomyosis then let us explain it for you a little bit about it.
There are a lot of different kinds non perfect treatment for uterus myoma and adenomyosis and the same aren’t right for every woman. Every woman should talk to her doctor about what treatment is right for them base don her diagnosis and overall health.
Uterine fibroids (myoma) are the most common benign tumors in the female genital tract. The prevalence of this benign tumor is generally reported as 20-40% among reproductive-age women. The definitive treatment for multiple uterine fibroids is hysterectomy. However, hysterectomy is not suitable for patients who wish to have children. Myomectomy is an option for patients wishing to retain their uterus, but the surgical damage to uterus is dramatic in treating patients with multiple fibroids. As a minimally invasive treatment, uterine artery embolization (UAE) has been used to treat multiple uterine fibroids. Severe side effects and complications including postembolization syndrome, infection of the uterus, ovary damage, temporary amenorrhoea, problems with future pregnancies and possibly infertility have limited its application.

Over the last decade, high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has been widely used in clinical practice to treat uterine fibroids. As a non-invasive treatment technique, HIFU is performed under the guidance of ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging, so the fibroids can be selectively ablated, even fibroids smaller than 2 cm in diameter, without damaging adjacent structures. Many studies from Asia, Europe and North America have demonstrated that HIFU is a safe and cost-effective alternative for the treatment of uterine fibroids.
HIFU preserves uterus and keep preserves women quality of life.
Myomas (also called fibroids) are benign tumors composed partly of muscle tissue.
The most common signs and symptoms of Myoma and Adenomyosis include:
Irregular, heavy menstrual bleeding
Having backache and leg pains
Constipation
Frequent urinary
Pelvic pressure or pain
Difficulty emptying the bladder
Diagnosis
Pelvic examination
Tests such as Ultrasonography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
Causes
Genetic
Hormones
other growth factor unknown
Treatment
If Myoma size is small then they are surgically removed (a procedure called myomectomy). But, if myoma size is large and multiple then removal of the entire uterus which called hysterectomy may be necessary, then women can not bear children. This is one of the cause of infertility. Depends on myoma’s size, it may also raise the risk of certain pregnancy complications such as placental abruption fetal growth restriction and preterm delivery. But, for adenomyosis most doctors recommend the hysterectomy, or the removal of the uterus. This is often the treatment of choice for women with significant symptoms.
What is the HIFU non invasive treatment?
HIFU- High intensity focused ultrasound is a noninvasive treatment that uses non-ionizing ultrasonic waves to heat the tissue.
The essential part is- It converts the main power supply into high- frequency electronic power. The high frequency power is converted into high intensity ultrasound and transmits this ultrasound to focus on the target myoma and adenomyosis cell.
The benefits of HIFU includes
No anesthesia-
No need of taking oral medications
Noninvasive technique, no scar
No inflammation and there is no complication after the procedure
Short treatment time and quick recovery- Next day after treatment, you can go back to your normal daily life
Safe and effective
Comfortable because there is no general anesthesia.
It also keeps the uterus and allows you to have a baby after HIFU treatment.

Surgery was the mainstay of fibroid treatment until recently. Uterine HIFU center for non surgical, uterine preservation treatment. High utilizes high power ultrasound to selectively reduce fibroid. High is non-invasive ultrasound- based procedure, not causing any bleeding or scarring.
